As noted by Fred in his rant, it is somewhat difficult to follow this strip. He explains that "in each frame it is the camera that is rotating 90º around Kimiko as she walks in a straight line through the crowd. By frame 5 the camera has returned to facing the same direction it was in frame 1". He also posted a diagram [1] and a high resolution image of the line art [2].
